New Targeted Educational Seminars Added to RFID Journal LIVE 2008 Conference Program

RFID Journal has added new pre-conference seminars for those in the airline, automotive, chemical, food, government, health-care and IT sectors, for its sixth annual conference and exhibition, being held April 16-18 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

new York, NY (Issues Wire / PRWEB) January 16, 2008 -- RFID Journal, the world's leading media and events company covering radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, announced today that due to the growing demand for RFID education, it has added seven new pre-conference seminars to the conference program of RFID Journal LIVE! 2008, its sixth annual conference and exhibition, being held April 16-18 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

RFID Journal LIVE! is the largest and most important RFID event in the world. More than 2,500 people attended the 2007 event, including most leading early adopters and pioneers of the technology.

The new pre-conference seminars are designed to provide targeted education about RFID for those in the airline, automotive, chemical, food, government, health-care and IT sectors. These pre-conferences are in addition to seminars held in previous years for those new to RFID, investors, packaging and labeling providers, and auto-identification systems integrators, distributors and value-added resellers.

"We are addressing a clear need in the market for targeted education," said Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal. "Many companies in many industries are trying to understand how RFID can deliver benefits, and we are helping them find the answers."

RFID Journal LIVE! 2008 will feature eight educational tracks customized for those with different levels of knowledge of RFID--from beginner to experienced implementer--and targeted to those interested in understanding how RFID can deliver real benefits in the aerospace/defense, manufacturing, retail/CPG, pharmaceutical and supply chain/logistics industries.

"When you combine the eight tracks and 11 pre-conference seminars, RFID Journal LIVE! is clearly the largest educational opportunity in the world," Roberti said. "We'll have about 180 of the most knowledgeable presenters, all in the same place at the same time."

RFID Journal LIVE! 2008 will feature more than 200 leading technology providers exhibiting in the 120,000-square-foot exhibit hall. The exhibit hall will showcase live demonstration centers and, for the first time ever, technology companies will compete for a new Best in Show Award, to be determined by RFID Journal Editors with input from attendees.

In addition, EPCglobal will hold a Joint Action Group meeting prior to RFID Journal LIVE! 2008, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers will hold its IEEE RFID 2008 conference in conjunction with the event as well. The EPCglobal meeting is a gathering of members from all action groups that contribute to the development of EPCglobal standards. The IEEE event is the second in a series of annual conferences dedicated to addressing technical and policy challenges in the areas of RFID technologies, as well as their supporting large-scale distributed information systems and applications.

Register by Jan. 18 to save up to $500 off the cost of a conference pass. For more information about RFID Journal LIVE! 2008, visit www.rfidjournalevents.com/live/.
