General Discharge (Under Honorable Conditions) Upgraded to an Honorable Discharge

On November 15, 2007 case number ND07-00466 was upgraded from a General Discharge (Under Honorable Conditions) to an Honorable Discharge. The Applicant was discharged from the Navy with a General (under honorable conditions) rating due to "personality disorder." Case number ND07-00466, heard in November 2007, was upgraded from a General Discharge (Under Honorable Conditions) to an Honorable Discharge. Attorney Alan Edmunds has shown, once again, that experience makes the difference.

The Applicant was discharged from the Navy with a General (under honorable conditions) rating due to "personality disorder." The Navy Medical Review Board found that the Applicant was not medically ill, but had a long-standing character and behavior disorder rendering him unsuitable for continued military service. The Applicant had wished to remain in the Navy.

Attorney Edmunds appeared in front of the Naval Discharge Review Board to present the Applicant's case. Exhibits were submitted and Mr. Edmunds was able to prove that there was no evidence in the Applicant's service record of misconduct, and the Applicant's evaluation ratings did reflect an acceptable level of performance and conduct.

The Naval Discharge Review Board determined that the characterization of the Applicant's service as general was not consistent with the standards of naval discipline.
