Telecom and internet non-profit looks to new board for future of organization.
As part of CTIA, I hope to offer insights and leadership to the telecom community

Roswell, GA (Issues Wire / PRWEB) September 30, 2008 -- CarterBaldwin Executive Search, a leading retained executive search firm in Atlanta, announced today that partner Terry Addington was elected to serve as an Other Supplier representative to the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA) Board of Directors for 2009.

CTIA provides leadership for the wireless industry as an international nonprofit membership organization. Founded in 1984, it represents all sectors of wireless communications including cellular, personal communication services and enhanced specialized mobile radio. CTIA advocates for its membership before the Executive Branch, the Federal Communications Commission, Congress, and other state regulatory and legislative bodies.

Steve Largent, President and CEO of CTIA, is pleased to welcome Addington in his new role with the organization. "We are thrilled to have an industry leader like Terry on our Board. We seek business leaders who will continue to keep our industry on the cutting edge of new technology and service possibilities," says Largent. "And, as a provider of executive search services, he offers a unique perspective to our membership." Addington was previously on the CTIA Board for ten years until the sale of his company, First Cellular of Southern Illinois, to Alltel in 2006. In 2005 he held the position of Chairman. He has now been re-elected to the board as a supplier, rather than a carrier, adding to the depth of the Board's expertise.

Addington joined CarterBaldwin executive search in Atlanta to expand the Technology Practice, focusing on wireless telecommunications as well as its periphery technology and service areas. He specializes in C-Suite Executive and Board of Director searches for public and privately-held clients, with a special expertise in start-up, wireless operations and telecom related technologies.

Addington's distinguished 23-year career as a leader in the wireless telecommunications industry includes appointments as President and CEO of First Cellular of Southern Illinois until its sale to Alltel in 2006, Chairman of the Board of the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA), and President of the Rural Cellular Association (RCA).

"As part of CTIA, I hope to offer insights and leadership to the telecom community," said Addington. "In today's difficult economy, our organization can provide the support and resources to keep propelling our members to the forefront of the global marketplace."
